Club Silhouette {and what's free for members this month}

So Silhouette America started their Club Silhouette a few months ago. Basically, for $9.99/month (or $99.99/year), you get these:

  • Free shipping on all orders over $50.00
  • 10 exclusive digital designs to unlock each month
  • Free blade and mat delivered right to your door (three times per year)
  • Standing 10% discount off most items at silhouetteamerica.com*
  • Club Silhouette Points for every $10.00 you spend
**Excludes cutting machines, downloads, download cards, subscriptions, and gift cards.

I considered it for a minute and quickly decided that it was not worth it. I buy most of my Silhouette supplies from Amazon where they are usually cheaper than the Silhouette Store, even with the 10% Club Silhouette discount. Besides, I have Amazon Prime membership and get free shipping from them anyway.

When I heard that I could get a free 30-day trial and possibly a free mat and blade, I figured "Why not?".  I asked my Facebook readers and got some interesting info (click HERE to see the thread). A reader mentioned that she had to pay for a second month to get the free items but even then, I thought that was still worth it. Thanks for the info, Linda Adkins!

From the Club Silhouette FAQ, I found out that the themes for the 10 exclusive free designs for March is "Cards". These are the design themes for the other months:

October: Halloween
November: Autumn/Thanksgiving
December: Christmas/Winter
January: Flourishes
February: Printable Patterns
March: Cards
April: Spring
May: Graduation
June: Summer
July: Travel and Seasons
August: Back to School
September: Birthdays

Curiosity got the better of me and so I did it, I signed up for the free 30-day trial today.

Note that the Terms and Conditions state that:

"Silhouette America can only ship to the United States and Canada. Therefore, if you do not live in either of these countries, Silhouette America cannot mail you the free mat three times a year."

If you do not have a US or Canada shipping address, it probably wouldn't make sense at all to sign up for membership since you will not be able to get the mat and blade.

The receipt for signing up and the email containing the code for the free exclusive shapes came almost immediately after I clicked "START TRIAL". I went ahead and downloaded the shapes right away.

These are the free shapes for March:
